Cronin
Frankie is a Partner in Grant Thornton Ireland’s Financial Services Advisory practice and leads the dedicated FS Business Risk services team. He has over fifteen years’ experience working in an advisory capacity across the financial services industry.
He joined Grant Thornton in 2006 and worked with the Business Risk Services practice before relocating to New York in 2014 to join Grant Thornton US. Frankie spent over three years with the US firm’s Financial Service Advisory practice where he focused on Governance, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit solutions for global banking, insurance, asset management and payments institutions.
In his time in New York Frankie led a number of large scale, regulator (FRB/OCC/CFPB/NYDFS) driven remediation projects for some of the world’s largest banks. These projects all centred on key regulatory issues such as governance, regulatory compliance (BSA/AML, Financial Crime and Consumer Protection) and operational, enterprise and third party risk management (outsourcing).
Since his return to Dublin in 2017, Frankie has lead a number of scale remediation projects for a number of regulated firms on the back of CBI RMPs centered on governance, risk management and compliance effectiveness and maturity. He has also completed a number of significant CBI mandated independent thematic reviews focused on AML framework effectiveness, risk governance effectiveness and maturity and risk culture.
Frankie is an active member of a number of Industry Working Groups and has significant experience working with boards and senior management teams of financial institutions.
