Did you know that the illegal wildlife trade is estimated as the fourth most profitable crime globally? Those who completed the ACAMS-WWF online training would definitely remember this.

Many people would have heard about the ivory and rhino horn trade but there is a unique range of native and rare animals within the Australasian region which are frequently targeted by organised criminals for profit. This puts vulnerable species of flora and fauna at further risk and has the potential to cause significant environmental damage. Criminals involved in trafficking wildlife are likely to also be involved in bribery and corruption offences so it is critical that reporting entities understand how to assess IWT risks and detect this activity as part of an effective financial crime program.

The Australasian Chapter of ACAMS has the honour of having some outstanding presenters for the latest webinar including Amanda Gore, the lead author of the ACAMS-WWF IWT Certificate.

Please join us with our amazing speaker’s panel focused on IWT activities in our region, including how local regulators and reporting entities are responding.
