Levitt
Dr. Matthew Levitt is the Fromer-Wexler senior fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy where he directs the Institute's Reinhard Program on Counterterrorism and Intelligence. Levitt is also the 2021-2022 Andrew H. Siegel Professor at Georgetown University. Previously, Levitt served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for intelligence and analysis at the U.S. Department of the Treasury along with other counterterrorism and intelligence positions at the State Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Levitt is the author of Hezbollah: The Global Footprint of Lebanon’s Party of God (Georgetown University Press, 2013), creator of the open access Hezbollah select worldwide activities interactive map and timeline, and host of the podcast Breaking Hezbollah’s Golden Rule. Dr. Levitt has written extensively on Hezbollah’s narco-terrorism activities.
His latest publication is Rethinking U.S. Efforts on Counterterrorism: Toward a Sustainable Plan Two Decades after 9/11 (The Washington Institute, 2021).
