The risk-based approach has long been the foundation for conducting customer risk assessments, regardless of line of business, geography, or products and services offered. But once we have established that a customer falls into the high-risk category, what exactly do we do as part of enhanced customer due diligence (EDD)? And then, once this stage is over, how do we decide if the customer meets our acceptance criteria, especially if there are still areas of doubt?
