Bolton
Ian Bolton is the Founder and CEO of Sanctions SOS, a sanctions consultancy specialising in sanctions knowledge, analysis, training, and capacity building. Until recently he was the Editor of WorldECR publication FISC, a journal aimed at the financial services sector. Ian is also a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London. His focus is on all areas of sanctions, but particular interests and areas of expertise include sanctions evasion, maritime sanctions, nuclear proliferation, proliferation finance, and international relations. Ian Bolton was a British Diplomat for eleven years, during which he worked on nuclear proliferation, the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA), and helped draft the UK’s Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act. Following his career as a diplomat Ian worked at HSBC UK as a Senior Sanctions Manager, dealing with advisory and regulatory issues, including regulatory reporting.
