Carrie Hagerman is currently the Director of the AML Action, Coordination and Enforcement (ACE) Fusion Team, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.
Currently, Carrie is leading a new initiative, on behalf of Public Safety, to develop a Canadian Integrated Fusion Team that will counter money laundering in Canada. She is coordinating among federal and regional partners to develop a new model to strengthen coordination in support of money laundering investigations and prosecutions.
Prior, Carrie has worked in the area of strategic intelligence analysis for the RCMP, Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario as well as the Department of National Defense. She was part of the original team that created FINTRAC and worked with counterparts domestically and internationally to develop a framework and analytical methodology for the intelligence sector of FIU prior to it becoming operational. Carrie Has written and delivered courses on Financial Intelligence and presented to domestic and foreign partners on financial intelligence techniques, case analysis etc. Carrie built a formalized Financial Intelligence Training Program for FINTRAC that now delivers training internally and externally and has broadened FINTRAC’s reach to share FIU analytical techniques among partners. Carrie has experience in international policy and worked with partner FIUs, Egmont and FATF to improve international information sharing and develop new partnerships for FINTRAC. Carrie also served to support FINTRAC’s regulatory function as she managed relationships with private sector entities and launched a new project and approach to publishing regulator guidance and collaborating with regulated entities on behalf of the Centre.
