Chow
Mr. Chow joined BNP Paribas in October of 2015. Prior to this, he was partner in WongPartnershipLL.P. in their financial services regulatory practice, and focused primarily on providing legal advice in the areas of AML/CFT, sanctions and data privacy. He also acted as counsel for various global financial institutions in the investigations relating to LIBOR, FX, and SIBOR, SOR & NDFs.
Beginning in 1995, Mr. Chow was appointed to various senior legal and compliance roles with diverse institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank, Toronto Dominion Bank/TD Waterhouse, Salomon Smith Barney/Citibank and Nomura.
Prior these roles in the financial industry, Mr. Chow was in legal practice with various law firms in Singapore from 1988, with a later focus on corporate finance and regulatory advisory roles for commercial and private banks and securities and futures brokers.
He is a steering committee member of ACIP, the public-private partnership with the MAS, CAD and the private sector, in the compliance working group set up under the auspices of the IBF, participates in the ABS’ committees relating to compliance and AML, and is Co-Chair of the ACAMS Singapore Chapter Board.
Mr. Chow graduated from the National University of Singapore. He is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and is also an Attorney-at-Law, New York State Bar.
