Wanda
Massiah, CAMS
Wanda Massiah began her career in 1998 with the Central Bank of Barbados, during which time she acquired over fifteen (15) years experience in the regulatory field.
As a Bank Examiner, Wanda conducted both on-site and off-site supervision for local and international financial institutions. Her areas of expertise in the regulatory field include risk management (based on the Basel Committee’s guiding principles for banking), policy development, corporate governance, and the establishment of sound anti-money laundering, and combatting terrorist financing frameworks.
She left the supervisory industry in 2015 to join the private sector, as Compliance Manager for the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Limited and its subsidiaries. Here, she implemented a comprehensive compliance program across varying financial sectors utilizing risk-based methodology and artificial intelligence technology.
She became a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist in 2015. In 2017 she joined the Barbados Association of Compliance Professionals and held the Assistant Secretary position until early 2021. She is also a member of the Open Compliance & Ethics Group.
