Vincent Granado is Vice President, Director of Specialty Risk Mitigation at First Foundation Bank in Irvine, CA. He has over 10 years specializing in BSA Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and investigative experience in the areas of money service business (MSB), pawnbrokers, payday loans, and commercial banking. Today, his focus has been on BSA/AML with high risk clients such as cannabis businesses, EB-5 investor programs, and other high risk clients that require enhanced due diligence.
Vincent’s background starts working as a banking teller for a large financial institution in 2004. He then transitioned to a Compliance Monitoring Supervisor for a large MSB where he managed up to 50 investigators. During this role, he was responsible for U.S., Canada, and Mexico compliance investigations. He then changed his focus to the Consumer Confirmed Fraud Division for U.S. investigations where he developed procedures to prevent fraudulent activity and referred global fraud rings to law enforcement. He was the compliance representative for IRS & CFPB investigations. Vincent is a subject matter expert in federal and state regulations that govern short term loans. In addition, he is an expert in OFAC investigations with experience in EB-5 and complex business structures. His additional experience includes the creation of the cannabis program at a medium size financial institution.
Vincent has numerous credentials including CAMS designation, Certified Financial Examiner, Certified Commercial Cannabis Expert, Certified Financial Crime Specialist and Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst. He received his Master of Advanced Study in Criminology, Law, & Society from the University of California, Irvine and his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law.
