Lilian Sin is a seasoned Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) consultant and practitioner, with extensive compliance experience and a particular focus on sanctions compliance. She has a strong track-record in managing large, regional teams across Asia, including in the context of overseeing large transformation projects.
At FTI Consulting, Lilian advises clients on the increasingly complex issues in relation to U.S. and international sanctions and ensuring compliance with relevant Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations in HKSAR and Mainland China.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Lilian led a “Big Four” FCC practice for Mainland China and HKSAR. She led a team of FCC professionals to conduct remediations, uplift AML and Sanctions governance, enhance FCC monitoring and operations’ efficiency, and uplift enhanced due diligence standards for her Global and Chinese Banks clientele as well as Stored Value Facility licensees, Money Service Operators and Crypto-currency trading platform.
Prior to her role at the “Big Four”, she spent 16 years at HSBC where she held senior leadership roles within financial crime, including Head of Sanctions in Hong Kong, Regional Head of FCC Operations, and Regional Head of FCC Program Change for the Asia Pacific region. She held full accountability for the major Sanctions change program for the Hong Kong branch in response to U.S. regulatory commitments. She also led transaction monitoring and sanctions screening transformational programs for the Asia Pacific region and worked closely with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as well as other major regulators in key markets in relation to FATF recommendations.
