van der Does de Willebois
Emile van der Does de Willebois is the Coordinator of the Stolen Asset Recovery (StAR) initiative, a World Bank and UNODC partnership. He specializes in the abuse of legal entities, beneficial ownership identification, the use of non-profit entities for terrorist purposes and many asset recovery related topics. He is the lead author of “The Puppet Masters”, StAR’s report on the use of legal entities in grand corruption case and has co-authored different publications on AML and asset recovery related issues. He has been part of the World Bank’s financial market integrity unit since 2004, assisting countries in implementing AML standards and conducting country assessments. Before that Emile was in private practice, specializing in banking and securities law. He started off his career working for the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, The Netherlands.
