Overview

Janet Yamanaka Mello was the civilian Army employee who stole over $108 million from a grant program designed to provide services to military dependents and their families.  Mello was dubbed the 'Gucci Goddess' for perpetrating one of the biggest public frauds in Texas history and sentenced to 15 years.  When Mello started receiving daily deliveries of Louis Vuitton, Coach and Gucci purses to her Texas mansion, the drivers bringing the packages began to call her the "Gucci Goddess."
