Saiva Krastiņa is a Latvian career diplomat and currently is the Head of Sanctions Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. Her division is responsible for efficient implementation of sanctions in accordance with FATF recommendations and for communication with international organizations and foreign competent authorities regarding the imposition and introduction of sanctions and application of exceptions in Latvia. S.Krastiņa was a member of Latvia’s delegation to Moneyval and FATF, and is one of the drafters of the Latvian Law on Sanctions.
Previously S.Krastiņa was posted to the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Latvia to the UN, OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna, where she was responsible also for matters related to International Atomic Energy Agency, Nuclear Suppliers Group and Wassenaar Arrangement on Export Controls for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Goods and Technologies.
S.Krastiņa holds a professional Master in Law from the Latvian University and is a certified lawyer.
