Tan
James Tan is currently the Head Technology Crime Investigation Branch at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Singapore Police Force. He is currently in-charge of overseeing the investigations of offences under the Singapore’s Computer Misuse Act 1993. He has 13 years of law enforcement experience, and he is also a current member of INTERPOL Global Cybercrime Expert Group.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr James Tan held several leadership positions at INTERPOL from 2018 to 2021. He was the Acting Assistant Director (Cyber Strategy & Capabilities Development) and Head of ASEAN Cybercrime Operations. In these roles, he developed global strategies against cybercrimes and spearheaded joint operations in the region that led to the successful take down of cybercriminal syndicates. He represented INTERPOL at various international conferences, including the delivery of talks and keynotes.
Mr. James Tan holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and Master of Science in Strategic Studies from Nanyang Technology University. He has recently graduated from the National University of Singapore’s Law Academy with the Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice.
