Tesconi
Dave Tesconi is an accomplished Risk, Compliance, and Financial Crimes professional. He currently is a Business Risk and Controls Director at USAA, ensuring risks within retail bank business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. He develops and oversees the implementation, development, and maintenance of controls, risk management programs and frameworks for areas including information security, policies and procedures, information governance, regulatory change management, and user developed applications.
Previous work at USAA included the oversight of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) activities for the Retail Bank first line of defense. Prior to USAA, Dave was the Money Laundering Prevention Officer (MLPO) and Senior Vice President at Santander Bank US and in this role, he oversaw the day-to-day BSA and AML activities within Consumer, Business, and Real Estate Banking. Additional work experience included Vice President roles at Fidelity Investments in Operations Risk, Ethics and in the Fraud and AML Financial Investigations Unit. In those roles, he helped develop and implement surveillance and case management systems designed to detect and deter fraud and money laundering activities as well as oversee fraud and AML investigations and coordination with law enforcement and government agencies.
His education includes a Bachelor of Science from Fairfield University, where he majored in Finance, as well as a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford. Dave has been ACAMS certified since 2019 and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
