A Canadian resident & citizen, Carrie started her banking career with RBC in 1988, in Toronto Canada.
Carrie has over 30 years of banking experience and has held several diverse positions which include both client facing and non-client facing roles, which allowed for years of hands-on experience with all client segments and spanned several geographical jurisdictions. Over the last 13 years, Carrie has held Senior Management positions in Fraud, and Financial Crime area of RBC, and in her current role of Senior Director of AML Compliance which she has held for the past 10 years has responsibility for partnering and providing advisory services to Senior business partners in several client platforms, building important relationships with regulators, Global Correspondents and internal stakeholders to proactively identify AML risks, and ensure a robust sustainable AML program for Capital Markets, Custody & Asset Management, Trade Finance & Correspondent Banking globally including 17 jurisdictions in the Caribbean. Carrie has been an active advocate for regulatory change to promote the successful achievement of RBC’s strategic goals and risk appetite.
Over the past 4+ years and in addition to participation and advocacy in Canadian industry forums, Carrie has participated in several Global industry dialogues, and working groups (FATF/IIF). The dialogues included and covered topics such as Evolving risks, the Challenges of maintaining Correspondent Banking services and has been invited to participate in several global industry panels and speaking engagements by the US Dept. Of Treasury, the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB) and the UN to discuss challenges, and to work in partnership with other Financial Institutions globally to identify viable solutions to solve important issues facing the global AML landscape today.
