Brenda
Lopez
Brenda Lopez currently manages the BSA Quality Assurance and Training team at People’s United Bank (PUB). In her role she oversees a team of analysts responsible for performing quality assurance reviews in order to identify potential opportunities for training or gaps in procedural compliance. She maintains a close working relationship with management from each BSA group in order to provide the information and tools needed for training of their respective teams. Prior to her current role Brenda was a Lead Analyst in the Financial Intelligence Unit at PUB where she handled high-level investigations and also led BSA/AML training and development intiatives. She has 12 years of experience in the banking industry, 6 of which were spent directly within BSA/AML. Her passion for the industry is driven by the human element at the other end of the transactional analysis and investigation process; specifically in relation to human trafficking and the impact it has in communities.
Brenda attended the University of New Haven for Criminal Justice and Accounting and earned her degree in 2012. She has been CAMS certified since May 2016 and is extremely excited to join the board as the new Membership Director.
