Shaune has over 30 years of legal and regulatory experience, focused on risk, compliance, and financial crime. He has worked for the QFCRA for 14 years, in AML/CFT Supervisory and Enforcement roles. Previously, Shaune was a Senior Lawyer and Investigator at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) covering corporate governance, market conduct, financial products, consumer protection and fraud. He led multi-disciplinary teams conducting high profile civil and criminal investigations, litigation, and prosecutions. Before ASIC he held a senior regulatory role at the Australian Office of Transport Security, supervising the Aviation and Maritime industries. This included chairing intergovernmental committees, oversight of counter-terrorism risk assessments for major events such as the Olympic and Commonwealth Games and developing a new supervisory model for the Maritime industry. During the preceding 10 years, Shaune was a Prosecutor and Criminal Defence Lawyer, specialising in serious criminal offences. Shaune holds a Bachelor of Laws, post graduate qualifications in finance, is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Anti Money Laundering specialist, having completed the ACAMS Advanced program in Audit.
