Hook
The APG Executive Secretary is Dr Gordon Hook. He managed the Criminal and International Law team at New Zealand’s Ministry of Justice which included policy work in AML/CFT, criminal procedure policy and international criminal law until he was appointed to his current position in the APG in 2006. He has led and participated in numerous APG and FATF mutual evaluations since then.
Gordon Hook is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Manitoba Queen's Bench (Canada) and the High Court of New Zealand. He has a LLB from Dalhousie University in Canada, a LLM from the University of Sydney in Australia, and a PhD (Law) from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He has published and edited articles on AML/CFT and other legal topics in books and journals. In 2022, he completed a comprehensive research project on beneficial ownership and express trusts at the University of Sydney.
