ACAMS introduces online proctoring of exams

Due to ongoing safety concerns and travel restrictions related to COVID-19, as well as the temporary closure of many Pearson VUE testing centers globally, effective April 1, 2020 and through July 31, 2020, ACAMS will offer online proctoring for candidates taking their CAMS, CGSS and Advanced CAMS-RM and other certification exams. Any further changes will be communicated accordingly.

Pearson VUE’s online proctoring system, OnVUE, enables candidates in over 185 countries around the world to take their exam from the privacy of their home or office. Online proctoring is however not available to candidates in Mainland China, Japan, Slovenia, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Sudan.

Learn More About the System

If you are considering an online exam, please carefully read our list of Frequently Asked Questions, complete a system test in advance, and familiarize yourself with the room requirements.

Please note that the Pearson VUE online proctoring system, OnVUE, has a user interface that is only available in English. In addition, any support during the check-process or during the exam will be provided only in English. Once the exam is launched, it will be in the language based on the ACAMS exam package you purchased.

A message from Rohit Sharma, President and MD of ACAMS

The life that we lead today is vastly different to what we had a mere few weeks ago. Our global anti-financial crime (AFC) community, like others around us, is deeply impacted by COVID-19. We keep learning about new typologies due to shifts in both customer & criminal behavior, and we are seeing a surge in cash withdrawals, online banking and cryptocurrency-related activity.

Now more than ever you need the latest resources and knowledge to help you navigate this new operating landscape. Our unique role as the largest membership organization in the AFC space allows us to help you respond to these challenges.

Here are some of the ways we are supporting our community:

  • As many of our CAMS certified members are unable to earn credits by attending live events which have been cancelled due to COVID-19, ACAMS will extend the deadline for CAMS recertification from March 31, 2020 to June 30, 2020 at no additional cost.
  • Due to COVID-19, testing centres in many countries are now closed. However, effective April 1, 2020, we will offer online proctoring for CAMS, CGSS & Advanced CAMS-RM and other certifications worldwide except in a few jurisdictions(1). This means you can take the certification exam from your home or office.
  • Our global Subject Matter Experts will launch a new online series dedicated to COVID-19 next week, responding to the shifts we are all seeing.
  • We will launch new virtual events to ensure that our AFC community is kept up-to-date and our members are able to earn sufficient credits for their recertification.

These new initiatives are in addition to the extensive range of content already available online:

  • ACAMS Certifications – CAMS, CGSS & Advanced CAMS-RM – details available here.
  • 20 Certificate courses covering topics ranging from KYC CDD to Transaction Monitoring to AI for Financial Services & much more – full list can be found here.
  • Our Webinar series in multiple languages offered across different time zones – when completed archived in our extensive library currently housing over 200 titles. Access the webinars here.

Through our social media channels, we will keep updating you on new ways to advance your AFC knowledge and help you connect the dots with the rest of our global community faced with physical boundaries precipitated by this situation. Our community is a truly global force, and we look forward to supporting you even more during this challenging period. #onlinewithACAMS
