Due to the growing demand for the CAMS certification, it is highly recommended to start registering for the CAMS examination at least two weeks prior to the actual examination date. Candidates wishing to sit for the CAMS Examination must:
1) Meet eligibility requirements and present all necessary documentation*
2) Complete and mail or fax the examination application*
3) Pay the examination fees*
Once the application is approved, the candidate will receive a confirmation e-mail containing an Examination Identification Number. With that number, the candidate will need to visit Prometric at www.prometric.com/acams to select the testing center, date and time of their choice. A valid e-mail address must be provided to Prometric by those candidates who choose to schedule their exam online. After the exam has been scheduled the candidate will receive a test date confirmation e-mail from Prometric. This email contains the confirmation number needed in the event the candidate wishes to reschedule the exam.
.
Candidates who have not submitted an examination application, have an incomplete application or a pending balance will not receive their Examination Identification Number. These individuals will receive an email from ACAMS informing them of their pending items.
*The CAMS Certification Candidate Handbook contains complete instructions and an explanation on eligibility requirements and all policies and procedures and application forms. The entire handbook may be downloaded and printed for your convenience.

Once the candidate receives the Examination Identification Number from ACAMS in a confirmation e-mail, and after waiting the required 24 hours, the candidate may go to www.prometric.com/acams to schedule the CAMS Exam. A valid e-mail address must be provided to Prometric by those candidates who choose to schedule their exam online. After the exam has been scheduled the candidate will receive a test date confirmation e-mail from Prometric.
It is recommended to schedule the exam at least two weeks in advance as testing centers are limited in seating. Other companies worldwide also offer computer-based testing for their employees or members. This means that the candidate may be sitting next to someone taking a medical or legal examination or foreign language examination, etc.
The testing centers are generally open Monday through Saturday, 8am-6pm except in the Middle East where centers are open from Sunday through Thursday.
ACAMS and Prometric comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and will ensure that individuals with disabilities are not deprived of the opportunity to take the examination solely because of a disability, as required and defined by the relevant provisions of the law. Special testing arrangements may be made for these individuals, in any country, provided that an appropriate request for accommodation is submitted to ACAMS along with the examination application and the request is approved. A Special Accommodations Form is included in the CAMS Certification Candidate Handbook. This form must be signed by an appropriate professional and submitted with the examination application.
If you have been approved for special accommodations in the U.S., please contact the Special Accommodations Department at 1-800-967-1139 to schedule your examination. If you have not received approval for a reasonable accommodation, please contact ACAMS at info@acams.org or +1-305-373-0020, Option 7.

Any cancellations or rescheduling between 29 days to 48 hours prior to the scheduled examination date will incur a $100 fee, which must be paid online and directly to Prometric. Only credit cards are accepted for payment.
If a candidate cancels or reschedules within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment, the candidate forfeits the examination fee. To reschedule after 48 hours, the candidate must re-establish eligibility with ACAMS by contacting ACAMS at 305-373-0020, Option 7. ACAMS will then charge the following fees: The fees below also apply to those who need to retake the exam.

- $200 for government members
- $375 for non-members
After paying the examination fee and receiving a Examination Identification Number, candidates must contact Prometric testing online at www.prometric.com/ACAMS or at 1-800-503-8991 (U.S.) to choose a new examination date. The candidate may reschedule 48 hours after the examination. Individuals who are retaking the exam must wait at least 2 months before retaking the examination but can schedule within the 48 hour time frame.
In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen emergencies on the day of an examination, ACAMS and Prometric will determine whether circumstances warrant the cancellation, and subsequent rescheduling of an examination. Every attempt will be made to administer all examinations as schedule. However, should an examination be canceled at a test center, all scheduled candidates will be contacted and receive notification regarding a rescheduled examination date or reapplication instructions.
