Q. Do I need to be an ACAMS member to take the CAMS examination?

A. No. The CAMS examination is open to any professional seeking the CAMS credential that has met eligibility requirements. However, only active ACAMS members can display the “CAMS” designation after their name upon successfully passing the examination. Non ACAMS members may indicate the CAMS certification in their curriculum vitae but may not use the CAMS designation in any titles or signatures.

 

Q. Where can I learn about eligibility requirements?

A. Complete eligibility requirements can be located on page II of the CAMS Certification Candidate Handbook

 

Q. How far in advance should I register?

A. It is recommended that candidates apply at least two weeks in advance due to limited seating. The centers offer different types of examinations for other client companies and associations across the globe. A CAMS exam candidate may sit next to someone taking a medical, legal or accounting examination.

 

Q. Who do I contact for registration?

A. A candidate must register with ACAMS via fax or e-mail. To register, candidate must send supporting documents, application forms and fees via fax or e-mail directly to ACAMS. Please visit page VI of the CAMS Certification Candidate Handbook for details.

 

Q. Who do I contact for scheduling the examination?

A. Candidate will select the testing center city, date and time online at www.prometric.com/acams.

 

Q. What if I have a special need or request due to a disability?

A. ACAMS and Prometric will ensure that individuals with disabilities are not deprived of the opportunity to take the examination. All Prometric centers have a “Special Accommodation” room to assist those with special needs such as more space and higher desktop to accommodate wheelchairs; A blind person may have someone read the exam (Special Accommodation room is soundproof but contains audio recording for security purposes).

 

Q. Is there a fee for rescheduling?

A. There is no fee when an examination is rescheduled more than 30 days prior to a scheduled appointment. However, there is a fee for rescheduling less than 30 days and within 48 hours. Please visit Rescheduling or Canceling of the CBT Instructional Program for list of rescheduling fees.

 

Q. Is there a canceling fee? Are refunds permitted?

A. A candidate that cancels without rescheduling forfeits the examination fee. No refunds are issued to individuals requesting to withdraw from an examination after registration.

 

Q. How fast do I receive score results?

A. The candidate will receive the score results within seconds of finishing the examination on the computer screen. The results are automatically printed outside the testing room, at the proctor station. The proctor will give the printout to the candidate upon exiting the testing room.
