Welcome to the Central Ohio ACAMS Chapter! Our chapter was formed to service financial crimes prevention professionals in the Central Ohio and surrounding areas. Our Executive Board has representation from diverse cross section of financial industry professionals in the Central Ohio, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas.

Our goal is to provide education, networking and career development for ACAMS members in our service area. The Chapter provides support for its members and the community through networking people together from a vast array of relevant disciplines and experience. Our events will bring industry experts, members of the law enforcement community and academia to promote further development in our subject matter. These will also provide continuing education credit for those ACAMS members to maintain their CAMS designation. By joining and participating in the Chapter, you can keep your skills up to date in this ever changing environment.

Shayne Layne

Shane Layne CAMS, MSAcc

Shane is CAMS certified and has a Master’s Degree in Accounting with a focus on Forensic Accounting. He has nearly 6 years of AML experience with a wide range of institutions and positions. He started his AML career path with Huntington National Bank as an AML Investigator. He then moved over to J.P. Morgan Chase in order to join their newly developed AML/KYC team within their Commercial Banking unit. While at Chase, Shane held a Senior AML Analyst and Industry Risk Forensic Analyst positions. While in these roles, he became the subject matter expert for high risk industries including PEPs, Charities and NGOs, Jewelry and Precious Metal Dealers, Casinos, and MSBs. After some time with Chase, Shane accepted the role of Deputy BSA Officer at Park National Bank in 2015. While there, Shane had direct oversight and management of the AML Transaction Monitoring Team, QC Team, CDD/EDD Team, and BSA Training Team. Currently Shane is with Discover Financial Services where he is a manager within their Payment Services Financial Intelligence Unit.

In his free time, Shane enjoys spending time with his son, as well as being involved in local community projects.


Erin Moore

Erin Moore has 15+ years in the financial services industry including experience with criticized assets, mortgages, commercial and consumer banking. During the past six years she held many roles advising high risk areas from a regulatory compliance perspective. She has had experience performing BSA/AML Risk Assessments, creating and conducting compliance training, advising business units, in addition to creating and implementing the first monitoring program for the BSA/AML Operations Team and the first iteration of the Vulnerable Class Abuse program and Training at Alliance Data Systems, enterprise wide. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Ohio University in Criminal Justice and currently holds a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and Consumer Data Industry Association (Data Furnisher and Data User) (CDIA) designations.


Roseanna Ridgway

Roseanna is a Compliance Specialist with Alliance Data Systems prior to her position at Alliance Data she was with Nationwide’s BSA Compliance group. She has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, 13 years of this specifically with BSA. Her BSA experience includes conducting BSA risk assessments, development and delivery of training, conducting investigations, reporting metrics and implementations of interdiction software for both AML and OFAC. She has had her CAMS designation since 2007 and has spoken at several conferences including ACAMS.


Jennifer Morrison

Jennifer Morrison is VP, Senior Risk Manager for Corporate One Federal Credit Union and has worked in the finance industry for more than 30 years. Corporate One Federal Credit Union functions is a wholesale financial institution with over $6 billion in assets under management. Jenny is responsible for Corporate One’s second line of defense related to BSA/AML and OFAC compliance and Jenny is responsible for all credit risk-related functions specifically related to investments and lending. Jenny started her career in indirect lending, and during her career, she been a Corporate Treasurer, handled store support and inventory management for a global retailer, and worked in M&A for a large regional financial institution. Jenny is CAMS, CAMS-Audit and CTP certified. Jenny’s undergraduate and MBA are both from The Ohio State University.


Kristina Crites

Kristina has more than 15 years’ experience working as an investigator with the last 10 years focused on managing significant projects involving the investigation of financial crimes related to money laundering, health care fraud, financial fraud, human trafficking, tax and securities fraud, as well as terrorist financing and sanctions issues. In her current role, Kristina is responsible for the management and oversight of 23 investigators with Huntington Bank’s AML/BSA Department.

Prior to joining Huntington Bank, Kristina worked as a litigation/investigative paralegal in a large national law firm and served as a deputy sheriff with an Ohio Sheriff’s Office and a police Lieutenant with an Ohio municipal police department. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Forensics and currently holds the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation (2015).

Kristina has a passion for community service and currently serves as a Member of United States Senator Rob Portman’s Service Academy Nominations Board and a Blue and Gold Officer for the United States Naval Academy. She is also a volunteer with Life Care Alliance – Meals on Wheels and served as a Redistricting Committee Member for the Olentangy Local School District during the 2016-2017 redistricting initiative.


Tara Griffith

Tara Griffith, Manager of Wire Services at Corporate One Federal Credit Union. Tara leads the Wire Transfer team at Corporate One, which is responsible for domestic and international payments. She has extensive knowledge in domestic and international wire regulations. Tara has 25 years of experience in BSA/AML/OFAC. She has received certification from School of Bank Compliance in 2005. She also has knowledge in FATF and FinCEN.

Her background is well diverse in ACH, Foreign Check Collection, Consumer Lending, Finance, Management, Process Improvement, Team Building, Retail Banking, Electronic Payments, Accounting, Analysis, Auditing, Training, Business Continuity, Project Planning, Core Banking and Troubleshooting.


BrianMannion

Brian Mannion

Brian is Managing Counsel within the Office of Privacy, Technology, Information, and Contract Services (OPTICS) . He has been with Nationwide since 1999 and practices in the areas of privacy, information technology, FCPA, OFAC and anti-money laundering. Since 2001 he has been the primary lawyer responsible for Nationwide’s anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) efforts for its broker/dealers, bank, mutual funds, mortgage company, and life insurance companies. Additionally, he leads a team of lawyers and compliance professionals to assist with the development and implementation of Nationwide’s new technologies such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), Microsoft Exchange in the cloud migration, cloud and social networking tools. Finally, Brian leads the privacy data event team.

Brian is a graduate of the Capital University School of Law and received his B.A. from Miami University.


Mike McKiernan

Mike McKiernan has 20+ years of experience in the financial services industry and has spent the past 15 years as the Head of Financial Crimes Intelligence for Fifth Third Bank. Prior to that, he worked as a pension actuary for Fidelity Investments and Willis Towers Watson. Today, he manages the unit responsible for the systemic identification of potentially suspicious activity including the management of AML surveillance and support applications. He also oversees the unit responsible for the Bank’s AML system calibration efforts as well as the AML operational and management reporting functions. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Bryant University majoring in Actuarial Science, and received his MBA, with honors, from Clark University majoring in Finance. He is also a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).


Tim Steinbrunner

Tim Steinbrunner has spent the last 15 years in BSA Compliance. Tim spent 12 years at JPMorgan Chase as part of their Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and managing AML Investigation teams, both domestic and international. At Alliance Data, Tim oversees the BSA program which includes transaction monitoring and all SAR filings. Tim is also responsible for the OFAC sanction screening program. He has been a presenter at the Southwest Border AML Conference as well as presented to multiple law enforcement agencies and an Underground Economics class at The Ohio State University on the topics of money laundering and terrorist financing. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University.


Timothy Westrick

Tim Westrick has over 20 years of experience in the financial crimes and white-collar enforcement and compliance space in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Treliant, Tim was a Manageleading project teams in Deloitte’s AML practice and on antitrust engagements. Tim’s experience in the industry includes working at J.P. Morgan Chase as a Vice President in Global Financial Crimes Compliance with the Financial Intelligence Unit and AML Operations handling AML/BSA, OFAC and Anti-Bribery/Corruption investigations, and with Discover Financial Services in global network AML/BSA compliance. Prior to his industry experience, Tim served as a trial attorney for nine years with the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, conducting international and domestic white-collar crime investigations and prosecutions.

Tim’s experience in white-collar practice areas and international matters includes antitrust, fraud, Anti-Bribery/Corruption, AML/BSA, OFAC, corporate compliance, internal investigations and U.S. Sentencing Commission compliance program guidelines, and enterprise risk assessment and mitigation in public and private sectors.

Since joining Treliant, he has been engaged on federal regulatory independent consultancies reviewing the OFAC compliance programs of global financial institutions, assessment, review and remediation of BSA/AML and Anti-Bribery/Corruption compliance programs for global clients, and AML/Anti-Corruption reviews for governments. He is also a published author within the industry.
